Stun Guns vs. TASER. What's The Difference?
3rd Aug 2022
Stun guns are an effective contact weapon but you must physically touch the person with the prongs of the stun gun. It is also best to hold it on them for many seconds. Stun guns work by rapidly overworking the muscle group and depleting it of blood sugar. In addition to causing shocking, immobilizing pain and extreme exertions of muscle contractions, the result is similar to muscle failure.
A Taser device can easily floor someone. From a safe distance a taser device, such as the civilian C2, allows you to repel the attacker from up to 15 feet away. That is a BIG difference from a stun gun, which requires direct contact.
Taser devices are electroshock weapons that use electrical current to disrupt muscle control, stopping an attacker dead in their tracks. Taser devices can be used both close and far range. Upon firing, taser devices shoot two metal probe darts a distance of 15 feet to reach an attacker before he reaches you. The taser can also be used as a direct contact stun gun, allowing for close proximity self defense.
Police carry their own version of a Taser device which you hear about if you watch the news. The police version is similar to the C2's predecessor, advanced taser. However, the law enforcement version does have a longer range (21 feet compared to the civilian 15 feet).
Although most people refer to a stun gun as a taser gun, the differences and affects are clearly in the taser's favor, not allowing a would be predator or person with bad intent close enough to make bodily contact.
We have only given you one main difference between a "taser" and a "stun gun." and the effective ranges between the two. However most will choose the taser, of course the price of a taser is slightly higher than that of a traditional stun gun, both can be effective when used correctly.
